One-on-One Chinese
A central part of your CLI semester abroad will be one-on-one intensive Mandarin lessons. One-on-one training is essential to quick improvement in all aspects of the Chinese language. Students have the option of attending either three or ten hours per week of one-on-one language lessons (see Intensive Option).
Housing Accommodations
Total cost of rent and utilities is completely covered by your program tuition. All living accommodations include heating and A/C, hot and cold shower water (some sinks do not have hot water), and a moderately high-speed internet connection. Apartment arrangements additionally include a washing machine, refrigerator and cable television.
Airport Pick-up and Drop-off
From the moment you arrive in Guilin until the day you leave, CLI will be there to assist you in your traveling needs. Airport pick-up and drop-off is a small but important service that is provided to all CLI students.
Pre-semester Orientation
CLI's pre-session orientation is designed to familiarize students with their new living and learning environment. Your orientation includes a large welcome lunch with the local team and other program participants, an in-depth tour of Guilin, and a comprehensive introduction on how to make the most of CLI’s intensive Chinese coursework. We ask that students arrive on the Saturday prior to their first day of class.
