The Chinese Language Institute (CLI) has forged a relationship with the U.S. Federal Government's Intelligence Community Centers of Academic Excellence (IC-CAE). As a result, CLI is currently hosting twelve IC-CAE grant recipients on a 4-week immersion seminar in Beijing, Shanghai and Guilin.

Students have already traveled in Beijing and Shanghai for one week, visiting several companies and cultural sites while in China's political and economic capitals. Currently the group of IC-CAE scholars is attending four daily hours of intensive Chinese classes at CLI's home base in Guilin. CLI also arranges daily cultural activities for the group, including a visit to a Daoist teahouse, a company tour at a large software development firm, and a direct cultural exchange with local university students.
