Program Highlights

  • Explore São Paulo, the largest city in the southern hemisphere and Brazil’s financial capital.
  • Participate in a guest lecture on Oscar Niemeyer, one of the 20th century’s greatest architects, known for combining art, engineering and landscape to create gravity-defying buildings.
  • Meet with local university students and learn about life in Brazil while you explore Rio with them.
  • Experience Rio’s beaches at Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana.
  • Board the rack railway up the summit of Corcovado to view the Christ the Redeemer and gaze at the amazing 360-degree views of Guanabara Bay.
  • Gain an upclose look of the the Iguassu Falls, one of the greatest natural wonders of the world.
  • Learn about life in Buenos Aires, often referred to as the “South American Paris”, with its blend of Spanish, French and Italian architectural styles, and its immense variety of cultural spots.
  • Visit the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology, one of the best engineering schools in Latin America.
 
 

Pre-Departure To-Do List

  1. Complete CLI’s Student Information Form
    Complete CLI’s Student Info Form by Friday, December 29, 2017. Be sure to enter information exactly as it appears on your passport. If you do not currently have a valid passport, you are still able to submit the Student Information Form using these instructions. Your program is titled “VT RSAP Brazil and Argentina 2018”.
  2. Secure your passport
    If you do not already have a passport that will be valid for at least six months after your program end date, please visit the U.S. State Department for instructions on how to obtain one.
  3. Secure your Brazilian visa
    Secure your Brazilian visa before your program commences. Visit the Brazil Embassy Website for current visa information. If you are not a United States passport holder and believe you may need a visa to Argentina, please contact CLI by phone at 888-781-8383 or by email at nancy@studycli.org.
  4. Complete CLI’s allergies and dietary restrictions form
    Complete our medical allergies and dietary restrictions form upon reading this prompt. It’s important that we have access to information regarding any medical allergies you may have or other medical considerations we should be aware of. Please also use this opportunity to inform us of your dietary restrictions (if any).
  5. Review important travel information
    Make sure you have thoroughly reviewed health and safety information for both Argentina (CDC and U.S. State Department) and Brazil (CDC and U.S. State Department) well in advance of your departure to South America.
