Gunnery and CLI require all students participating in the Gunnery Summer 2016 Cultural Immersion Program to purchase travel insurance. iNext is a commonly used short-term travel insurance provider that many China-bound travelers use. If you wish to purchase a different plan, there are many other providers to choose from. After you have secured your insurance plan, print out a copy to bring with you on the trip, and print out another copy to leave with your emergency contact prior to departure.
Review important travel information
Make sure you have thoroughly reviewed health and safety information from both the CDC and the U.S. State Department well in advance of your departure to China. The State Department highlights that “China remains a very safe country” for most travelers. That said, when traveling to any foreign country, it is important that each student familiarize themselves with relevant health and safety information.
