Program Highlights

  • Learn about life in Bogotá, Colombia’s capital and its main economic and industrial center, as well as one of the  continent’s most vibrant cultural scenes.
  • Explore La Candelaria, Bogotá’s cobbled historic downtown, with its beautiful preserved colonial buildings, 300-year-old homes, churches and convents.
  • Participate in a guest lecture on Colombia’s mineral sector.
  • Gain a close-up look of all things chubby at the Botero Museum. 
  • Chat with students from the Universidad de Medellín.
  • Explore the beautiful old town in Medellín, a UNESCO site.
  • Spend the day relaxing and snorkeling at the Islas del Rosario, an archipelago that boasts one of the most important coral reefs of the Colombian Caribbean coast.
  • Visit the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences campus and participate in a cultural exchange with its engineering students.
  • Discover Macchu Picchu. This Ancient Inca City is the best-known archaeological site on the continent and it rests on a spectacular location that never ceases to inspire awe in every visitor.
 
 

Pre-Departure To-Do List

  1. Complete CLI’s Student Information Form
    Complete CLI’s Student Info Form by Friday, December 29, 2017. Be sure to enter information exactly as it appears on your passport. If you do not currently have a valid passport, you are still able to submit the Student Information Form using these instructions. Your program is titled “VT RSAP Colombia and Perú 2018”.
  2. Secure your passport
    If you do not already have a passport that will be valid for at least six months after your program end date, please visit the U.S. State Department for instructions on how to obtain one.
  3. Secure your visa
    If you are not a United States passport holder and believe you may need a visa to either Colombia or Perú, please contact CLI by phone at 888-781-8383 or by email at maria@studycli.org.
  4. Complete CLI’s allergies and dietary restrictions form
    Complete our medical allergies and dietary restrictions form upon reading this prompt. It’s important that we have access to information regarding any medical allergies you may have or other medical considerations we should be aware of. Please also use this opportunity to inform us of your dietary restrictions (if any).
  5. Review important travel information
    Make sure you have thoroughly reviewed health and safety information for both Colombia (CDC and U.S. State Department) and Peru (CDC and U.S. State Department) well in advance of your departure to South America.
