Program Fee

  • The program fee for the November 2018 VT CLiGS Alumni Reunion is 3,250 USD.
  • Travel companions welcomed! The program fee for travel companions of CLiGS alumni is 3,250 USD. Please note that travel companions must be over 21 years of age and will not participate in 2-4 alumni-only workshops.
  • Participants who wish to upgrade to a single occupancy room may do so for an additional 730 USD.
  • Space is limited! We recommend enrolling early in order to secure your spot in the 2018 VT CLiGS Alumni Reunion.

VT CLiGS Alumni Reunion To-Do List

IMPORTANT: please read this entire page carefully.

In order to secure your space in the November 2018 VT CLiGS Alumni Reunion in Cuba, please complete each of the following steps at your earliest convenience. As CLI is an official CLiGS partner and helps manage their enrollment and logistical needs, please feel free to contact CLI anytime at 888-781-8383 or email our Director of Enrollment at nancy@studycli.org if you have questions regarding the enrollment process.
  1. Complete CLI’s Student Information Form
    Complete CLI’s Student Information Form by Monday, July 16, 2018. Your Program Country is listed as “Cuba” and your Program Name is “Solstice in Cuba: Havana and Viñales.” Be sure to enter information exactly as it appears on your passport.
  2. Submit your program deposit
    In order to secure your space in the VT CLiGS Alumni Reunion, please click the link below to submit your 500 USD non-refundable deposit by July 16, 2018. Please note that in order to submit your deposit, you must first complete CLI’s Student Information Form (step 1 above). Please use our secure and convenient online payment system (secured by Stripe) to submit your deposit.

  3. Complete CLI’s Flight Form
    Please share your international flight information with CLI by completing this international flight form at least one month prior to your programs’ start date.
  4. Submit the first installment of your program balance
    The first installment of your program balance of 1,375 USD (half of the 2,750 USD remaining program fee, which is the 3,250 USD less your 500 USD deposit from step 2 above) is due by July 27, 2018. Please use our secure and convenient online payment system (secured by Stripe) to submit this balance.

  5. (Optional) Submit extra balance for single occupancy accommodations
    If you wish to reserve a private room throughout your stay in Cuba, please send a personal check for 730 USD, made out to “CLI”, to 25 Long Bow Circle, Monument, CO 80132 by July 16, 2018.
  6. Secure your passport
    If you do not have a passport, please apply for one immediately. If you do have a passport, double check that its expiration date is at least six months after the end of your upcoming VT CLiGS Alumni Reunion. If your passport’s expiration date is within six months of your VT CLiGS Alumni Reunion end date, please renew your passport as soon as possible.
  7. Secure your visa
    Educational activities fall into the 12 categories of authorized travel to Cuba. However, you are advised to review the following website, Visa for Entry to Cuba, at least two months prior to your VT CLiGS Alumni Reunion program commencement date.
  8. Consider learning survival Spanish
    A great selection of free Spanish learning resources is available online. Please take time to review and familiarize yourself with the resources available online.
  9. Submit your remaining program balance
    Your remaining program balance of 1,375 USD is due by September 20, 2018. Please use our secure and convenient online payment system (secured by Stripe) to submit this balance.

  10. Complete CLI’s Dietary and Medical Information Form
    Please complete our dietary and medical information form upon reading this prompt. It’s important that your travel logistics providers have access to information regarding any medical allergies you may have or other medical considerations of which we should be aware. Please also use this opportunity to inform us of your dietary restrictions (if any).
  11. Review CLI and CLiGS Pre-Departure Reminders
    In an effort to better prepare you for your time abroad, CLI and CLiGS will put together a detailed pre-departure packet at least three months prior to your program start. Please check back to review this prompt and be sure to review all information carefully. As always, please contact CLI at nancy@studycli.org with any additional questions you may have.
  12. Review important travel information
    Make sure you have thoroughly reviewed health and safety information from the CDC (Cuba) and the U.S. State Department (Cuba) well in advance of your departure. When traveling to any foreign country, it is important that you familiarize yourself with relevant health and safety information.
  13. Install GroupMe on your smartphone
    Please install GroupMe upon reading this prompt. Please also work with your classmates to self-organize a GroupMe group that includes each member of your cohort in preparation for your time in Cuba. This will simplify and improve group communication during our travels. Installing this smartphone application is optional but highly recommended.
  14. Review optional activities for your free days in Cuba
    Limited free time is available during the program. The concierge at our hotels in Cuba and our in-country coordinator can provide activity planning assistance as needed. You might also wish to utilize a range of other resources (e.g., Lonely Planet, TripAdvisor, general Google searches, etc.) to find and arrange activities.
